The level design is great and the world itself is incredibly charming, but the stiff platforming made for an overall limited and frustrating experience. I just despised the way that Crash originally controlled. Over the years, I’ve tried replaying the original Crash Bandicoot game to absolutely no avail. Now, I want to talk a little bit about each of the three games individually and highlight some of my thoughts about each one of them. I simply cannot praise Vicarious Visions and Toys For Bob enough. Seeing him in this new light made me genuinely excited about what the future had in store for this weird orange rat. I was there for his highest of highs and his extremely pitiful lows. It pays homage to three of Crash’s most legendary adventures, all while deeply respecting the source material and elevating the overall experience in every possible way.

This is absolutely how a remake should look, sound and play like. Sane Trilogy set an absurdly high standard for any and all remakes that came after it. After years of releases that were quite literally the textbook definition of mid, Crash went into a bit of a hiatus before coming back with a vengeance. 32h 10m PlayedYou can’t talk about iconic comebacks without mentioning Crash Bandicoot’s triumphant reintroduction into the modern videogame scene.
